The Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), better known as Cal/OSHA, protects and improves the health and safety of working men and women in California and the safety of passengers riding on elevators, amusement rides, and tramways – through the following activities:
- Setting and enforcing standards
- Providing outreach, education, and assistance
- Issuing permits, licenses, certifications,
registrations, and approvals
Join Cal/OSHA for Construction Suicide Prevention Week 2024
Every year in September, the world raises awareness about suicide prevention during National Suicide Prevention Month. September 9-13 is Construction Suicide Prevention Week.
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is raising awareness about the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline and this year, SAMHSA is launching the first annual 988 Day on September 8. This year’s theme is “No Judgment. Just Help”. They have a call to action you can also join. 988 for suicide and crisis help is available year-round for those that need it.
We encourage everyone to visit our new Mental Health Resources and Construction Suicide Prevention Week pages. Cal/OSHA will continue to support one another every day and ask you to please join us.
