At Cal/OSHA, there is one primary job classification for elevator inspectors: Associate Safety Engineer (Elevators) (new window). The Elevator Unit has elevator inspector positions available throughout California. Exams

To be hired for an Associate Safety Engineer (Elevators) position, you must pass the exam.

The Associate Safety Engineer (Elevator) Exam (new window) will be scored and all candidates that achieve a 70 percentile or better will be ranked on an eligibility list (new window). The list will remain active until expired.
