At Cal/OSHA, there is one primary job classification for elevator inspectors: Associate Safety Engineer (Elevators). The Elevator Unit has elevator inspector positions available throughout California. Anyone can apply, but you must meet the minimum qualifications for the specific job classification.  Specific details about the application process and the minimum qualifications for the Associate Safety Engineer (Elevators)  job classification are described below.

Exams

To be hired for an Associate Safety Engineer (Elevators) position, you must pass the Associate Safety Engineer (Elevators) Exam.

Note: From the exam posting page, you have access the Official Exam Bulletin to view and take the exam.

The Associate Safety Engineer (Elevator) Exam  will be scored and all candidates that achieve a 70 percentile or better will be ranked on a list.  The list will remain active until expired.
