The advisory committee will discuss the draft for title 8 section 3343, workplace violence prevention in general industry, posted on May 13, 2025. The meeting will be held in person in Oakland and through an online video conference.
The Division is seeking additional input on a revised discussion draft for Workplace Violence Prevention in General Industry. Interested parties are invited to submit written comments to Deputy Chief of Health Eric Berg, EBerg@dir.ca.gov by July 14, 2025. An advisory committee meeting will be scheduled later.
The purpose of the advisory meeting will be to consider changes to Labor Code section 6401.9 (established by Senate Bill 553 (2023-2024)) in the discussion draft for title 8 section 3343 Workplace Violence Prevention. The meeting will be an online video conference with no in-person portion.

This second meeting will seek input on a new draft proposal to address workplace violence in all industries. It will include a discussion on the differences between section 3203, 3342, and the proposed new section 3343. This meeting is to further the discussion of the petition granted by the Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board, Petition 542.
