DAS updates its application and reimbursement process for California Apprenticeship Council training funds
The Department of Industrial Relations (DIR)’s Division of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS) has modernized the funding process for California Apprenticeship Council (CAC) training funds.
The CAC training fund has grown from $3 million to $20 million annually: a nearly sevenfold increase in support of building and construction trade apprenticeship programs. To distribute these funds efficiently, DAS is moving to an electronic system, the California Outreach Rapid Deployment (CORD) platform.
- Applications open: September 23, 2025, on CORD.
- Support available: A webinar on September 25 will walk programs through the new application and reimbursement process.
Contractors on public works projects are still required to contribute training funds at the prevailing wage rates set by law (California Labor Code 1777.5).
