Elevators
Mission of the Cal/OSHA Elevator Unit:
To ensure the safety of the riding public and protect workers in the elevator industry, the
Elevator Unit will maintain a vigilant system to meet our obligation to inspect and enforce
code compliance for elevators and other conveyances.
The Elevator Safety Orders generally do not apply to elevators in single-unit private homes.

The Conveyance Fee Reduction emergency regulation that went into effect on January 30, 2017, will expire on October 31, 2017. On October 31, 2017, all conveyance fees revert to the amount they were prior to January 30, 2017.
