Payment Options
To avoid service fees and delays, apply and pay online with a credit card. Additionally, the system will calculate the required fees for you.
If you apply in person or by mail, you can pay your garment registration fees with a money order, cashier's check, or certified check.

The amount you pay for registration is determined by your answers to certain questions on the online or paper application and the amount of gross sales receipts that you report for a specified period of time.
Your answers to the following items on the application form will determine the amount of your registration fee.
If you answered "No" to Application Item 7a:
If you have not had an application for registration denied and if you have not had a registration revoked or suspended during the three years preceding the filing of this application, use TABLE 1 to find the amount of your registration fee. (If your answer to 7a was "yes", go to the next section entitled, "If You Answered 'Yes' to Application Item 7a.")

Examination Fees (New applicants only)
The examination fee is $25.00. When the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement receives your completed application with your $25.00 examination fee, you will be sent an authorization for examination letter. This letter will tell you where and when you can take the exam, and provide you with instructions of what you need to bring to the exam.
The person who will take the garment exam must be listed on the application as the individual owner, one of the partners, one of the corporate officers, or member of the limited liability company with at least 20% ownership OR will function as the applicant's director of labor relations, and in that capacity will exercise direct or indirect control over employees' wages, hours and working conditions.
(Optional – any person listed above may request to take the exam with a renewal application by submitting a $25 fee.)October 2020
