When you have accumulated 4,000 hrs of on-the-job-experience and have completed 480 hours of related and supplemental instruction.

When you pass the exam you may work as an electrician

If you have completed 4,000 of on-the-job-experience before you complete the 480 hours of related and supplemental training, and are still enrolled in a qualified school, you may sit for the exam.
