Outreach and Education
Outreach and education is a fundamental part of our mission. The Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) provides essential information to educate workers on their rights and to help employers understand their responsibilities.
DIR participates in a wide range of outreach and educational events across the state, including in-person and virtual events, to inform and educate the workforce and employers in California.
We connect with workers and employers to make sure they have the information they need on workplace safety and health, labor laws, workers’ compensation and more.
DIR is actively engaged in outreach through targeted campaigns and initiatives. Some of our highest priority topics for the most vulnerable workers include: Heat Illness Prevention, Wildfire Smoke Protection, COVID-19 Prevention.
