DWC Posts Additional Adjustments to Official Medical Fee Schedule (Durable Medical Equipment, Orthotics, Prosthetics, Supplies) to Adopt Revised Medicare File
The Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) has posted an order adjusting the Durable Medical Equipment, Orthotics, Prosthetics, Supplies (DMEPOS) section of the Official Medical Fee Schedule (OMFS) to conform to relevant 2021 changes in the Medicare payment system as required by Labor Code section 5307.1.
This is the third Administrative Director order for the April 2021 quarterly update to the DMEPOS Fee Schedule. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services issued a revised 2021 second quarter DMEPOS file dated April 6, 2021. The Medicare DMEPOS zip file includes three formats for each document within the file: a Microsoft Excel Worksheet, a Microsoft Excel Comma Separated Values File, and a Text Document. The DMEPOS Quarter Two file updated April 6, 2021 is identical to the prior March 30, 2021 file, except that the DME_Apr document in Text Document format has been revised. The Excel versions of that document have not been revised.
Members of the public who previously downloaded the March 30, 2021 DME_Apr Text Document will need to download the revised file contained in the DMEPOS DME21-B (Updated 04/06/2021).
The Administrative Director update order dated April 9, 2021 adopting the OMFS adjustment effective for services on or after April 1, 2021, can be found on the DWC’s DMEPOS fee schedule web page.
