DWC Will Reschedule Canceled QME Examination in October
The Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) will reschedule the canceled April 18 Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME) examination in October 2020. The exact date will be announced in August after plans have been finalized. DWC canceled the exam due to the COVID-19 pandemic mitigation efforts of the State of California and local county and city governmental authorities.
Any physician that was registered for the April 18 examination will be automatically registered for the October examination. Physicians who do not want to be automatically registered for the October exam should contact the exam coordinator at QMETest@dir.ca.gov on or before May 29, 2020 to prevent registration for the October exam.
New registration for the October QME examination will begin in July, with a deadline of September 3, 2020.
