ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY

Hazardous Waste Stream Generation, Reduction And Treatment ENVT 11 (3 Units)
Generation, reduction, storage and treatment of hazardous waste focusing on waste streams from selected industries such as electroplating, metal finishing, circuit board production, steel production, oil refining and chemical production, printing and graphic production and agriculture. Formerly ENVT 110.


Hazardous Materials Management Applications ENVT 19 (3 Units)
Requirements and applications of federal, state and local laws and regulations relating to hazardous materials. Topics include: hazard communication, community right-to-know, Prop. 65 and air toxics regulations. Laboratory will focus on applications such as planning, handling, labeling and reporting. Formerly ENVT 140.

Lecture 3 hours, lab 2 hours.

Environmental Problems And Site Remediations ENVT 135 (3 Units)
Technologies for treatment and disposal of hazardous waste. Site assessment of environmental problems and technologies for soil, groundwater and air contaminant remediation.

Prerequisite(s): None.


Field Experience In Environmental Technology ENVT 170 (2 Units)
Supervised work experience involving environmental technologies, regulations, procedures or fieldwork. Lab 10 hours. Maximum credit 8 units, 2 units each semester.

Prerequisite(s): Maintain enrollment in 7 units or more including field experience.
