This 5th HEAC meeting will be held at 1515 Clay St, room 1304 in Oakland starting at 9:30 am and is an open public forum to be attended by HEAC members along with any interested parties. The agenda for this HEAC meeting includes developing a recommended PEL for the following substances:

  • Benzyl chloride
  • Carbon disulfide
  • Naphthalene
  • Phthalates (butyl benzl, di(2-ethylhexyl), and dibutyl)
  • Toluene
  • Trichloroethylene


This 4th HEAC meeting will be held at 1515 Clay St, room 1304 in Oakland starting at 9:30 am and is an open public forum to be attended by HEAC members along with any interested parties. The HEAC agenda included the following substances:

  • Carbon disulfide
  • Dichloroacetic acid
  • N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone
  • Hydrogen chloride
  • Sulfuric Acid
  • Toluene
  • Trichloroethylene


This meeting is an open public forum for parties and individuals interested in Cal/OSHA's project for updating of Table AC-1, Permissible Exposure Limits for Chemical Contaminants (PELs), in Section 5155 of Title 8 of the California Code of Regulations (8 CCR 5155).

The major items planned for this meeting are outlined on the attached agenda and include a presentation by the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) of its report on PELs released December 2007.

  • Dichloroacetic acid
  • N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone
  • Hydrogen chloride
  • Sulfuric Acid
  • Toluene


This second HEAC meeting will be held at 1515 Clay St, room 1304 in Oakland starting at 9:30 am and is an open public forum to be attended by HEAC members along with any interested parties. The tentative agenda for this HEAC meeting is to develop a recommended PEL for the following substances:

  • Dichloroacetic acid
  • N-Methyl-2-pyrrolidone
  • Hydrogen fluoride
  • Hydrogen chloride


This first HEAC meeting is an open public forum to be attended by the roster of HEAC members below along with any interested parties. The topics to be discussed include the process to be used to develop PEL recommendations, draft summary sheet format to be developed for each substance and related administrative matters for the overall HEAC process and future meetings. The tentative agenda for this first HEAC meeting is to:

  1. Review previous ACAC process for PEL recommendations and modify for current HEAC process,
  2. Develop summary sheet format to be used for each substance to be discussed,
  3. Announce the next meeting date and substances to be discussed.

This initial advisory meeting will discuss the draft list below and the Division's initial prioritization of the listed substances. This list includes a brief justification color coded in red type for the priority given to each substance. The agenda for this initial meeting attached:


Below is the final draft document entitled: Policy and Procedure for the Advisory Committee Process for Permissible Exposure Limits (PEL) Updates to Title 8 Section 5155, Airborne Contaminants. This final draft reflects comments received from the advisory meetings in December 2005 through December, 2006, as well as from individuals and organizations in the past several months.
