The 4th meeting will seek advice on a new draft proposal and to continue discussion of the two petitions granted by the Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board, Petition 538 from the Service Employees International Union (Local 121RN/Nurse Alliance) and Petition 539 from the California Nurses Association, as well as the implementation of SB 1299, codified as Labor Code Section 6401.8.

The law enforcement focus meeting will discuss the role of facility security and law enforcement personnel in various health settings, how they are involved in addressing workplace violence, and best practices and policies for interaction with facility personnel. The next meeting will address workplace violence hazards and prevention in non-hospital health care facilities, services and operations. This would include long-term care facilities, clinics and mental health centers, home health and other health care field services, emergency medical and other health operations that are not in hospitals.
