The Office of Administrative Law has published the notice of proposed rulemaking on Heat Illness Prevention in Indoor Places of Employment in the California Regulatory Notice Register, which initiates the formal rulemaking process.
The Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board has posted the proposed regulation, notice and other documents on its website.
After careful review of the comments received on the draft standard posted on January 29, 2019,
further revisions have been made. Cal/OSHA is preparing rulemaking documents based on this draft.
No further changes prior to rulemaking are anticipated.
After careful review of the comments received on the draft standard posted on October 24, 2018, further revisions have been made.
Interested parties are invited to submit comments on this further revised draft.

A 3rd advisory meeting will be held in Oakland, CA. As required by Labor Code Section 6720 (enacted in 2016 by Senate Bill 1167), the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) is convening an advisory meeting to develop a proposed regulation for minimizing heat-related illness among workers in indoor places of employment.
At this advisory meeting, stakeholders and the public will have an opportunity to provide input on a revised discussion draft developed in consideration of the comments received on the previous discussion draft. A meeting agenda and additional meeting documents are provided below.

A 2nd advisory meeting was held in southern California in Ontario, CA. As required by Labor Code Section 6720 (enacted in 2016 by Senate Bill 1167), the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) is convening an advisory meeting to develop a proposed regulation for minimizing heat-related illness among workers in indoor places of employment.
At this advisory meeting, stakeholders and the public provided input on a revised discussion draft developed in consideration of the comments received on the initial draft discussed at our 1st meeting.
