Cal/OSHA Disability Accommodation

The Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) provides assistance to qualified individuals with disabilities to give them the equal opportunity to use and to participate in DOSH's programs and services.

Accommodations or assistance for persons with disabilities are available upon request. Any person with a disability participating in DOSH's programs or services may request as an accommodation an auxiliary aid or service, or a reasonable modification of policies or procedures.

Accommodations include, but are not limited to devices to assist those with hearing impairments, computerized translation, a sign language interpreter, documents in large print, in Braille or on computer disk, and audio cassette recording as needed. Accommodation requests should be made as soon as possible using the Request for Accommodations by Persons with Disabilities form. Requests for an assistive listening device or computerized translation services should be made no later than five (5) days before the hearing.

Individuals requesting disability accommodations should contact the local district office disability accommodation coordinator at the occupational safety and health office where the individual's case is being heard. A list of the local district offices and telephone numbers is available in the "Access to Services" brochure below.

Individuals requesting disability accommodations may also contact the statewide disability accommodation coordinator at 1-866-326-1616 (toll free). The Statewide Coordinator can also be reached through the California Relay Service, by dialing 711 or 1-800-735-2929 (TTY) or 1-800-855-3000 (TTY-Spanish).
