EAMS is a computer-based system designed to simplify and improve the Division of Workers' Compensation (DWC) case management process.
The goals of EAMS are to better serve injured workers and employers by eliminating redundancy, creating efficiency in the system. EAMS will reduce environmental and physical stress associated with maintaining paper files and help guide policy decisions to better distribute resources.
The implementation of EAMS is taking place in two stages: The system went live for internal users-DWC and Workers' Compensation Appeals Board employees at DWC administration and district offices-Aug. 25. The division is bringing external users-those who need to file forms and documents with the district offices and the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board Reconsideration Unit-into the full electronic system over time. The first group of e-filers began working in EAMS on Sept. 22.
