DIR assessments

The Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC), the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) and the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE)  programs are funded by assessing and surcharging employers. The investigation and prosecution of workers' compensation fraud and the willful failure to secure payment of workers' compensation are also funded by an assessment on employers.

DWC EDEX

The  electronic data exchange system (EDEX) allows approved subscribers and their clients to electronically exchange data with the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board. Charges for these services are invoiced quarterly.

DWC lien filing and activation fee

Most liens for medical treatment and medical-legal expenses incurred by or on behalf of the injured worker and filed on or after Jan. 1, 2013 are subject to a lien filing fee of $150. This must be paid electronically through EAMS at the time the lien is filed. Those liens filed before Jan. 1, 2013 that did not pay the $100 lien activation fee by December 31, 2015, have been dismissed by operation of law.

DWC Medical Unit

Processes payments associated with Utilization Review (UR), Health Care Organization (HCO) programs, as well as payments to obtain medical publications.

UEBTF collection invoice

Uninsured employers may make payments to the UEBTF on payment plans to repay workers’ compensation benefits paid by the UEBTF, or on judgments obtained by the UEBTF against them.
