The Petitioner requests the Board to adopt a new section under title 8, section 5204.2, requiring all employers that fabricate "covered material, including artificial stone and natural stone" to be licensed to operate in California by establishing a fabrication shop license program via “Verified Compliance Pathway” for employers that fabricate countertop and surface materials. The Petitioner states that "[t]he proposed section stands alongside [s]ection 5204 and does not amend it."
The Petitioner asks the Board to require fabrication employers to:
- Hold a license to fabricate
- Pass an independent third-party compliance audit
- Report exposure monitoring to the Division
- Lose eligibility immediately when they fall out of compliance.
