Cal/OSHA – Elevator Unit
Mission Statement: To establish and maintain a vigilant and aggressive system that provides training, mentoring and support to our staff in order to meet our obligation to inspect and enforce code compliance for elevators and other conveyances. To provide inspections in a timely manner and to grant, through transparency, accountability that enables accuracy and supports ethical work practices in order to ensure the safety of the riding public and to protect the workers in the elevator industry.
The Elevator Safety Orders generally do not apply to elevators in single-unit
private homes.
