Young Worker Resource Centers in Northern California and Southern California
CHSWC funds and oversees many of the activities at the young worker resource centers operated by the Labor Occupational Health Program (LOHP) at UC Berkeley in Northern California and by the Labor Occupational Safety and Health Program (LOSH) at UCLA in Southern California.
The Young Worker Resource Centers can tap into the resources of LOHP and LOSH Young Worker programs as well the WOSHTEP program, also funded by CHSWC. These resource centers can also assist small business owners and managers, youth leaders, and anyone needing information about or assistance with workplace health and safety issues for youth. The Centers provide:
- Written materials on occupational health and safety and labor laws for youth
- Youth leadership development
- Awareness campaigns and media relations
- Technical and research assistance
- Referrals to state and local health and safety agencies
