DAS Launches New Webinar Series to Showcase Apprenticeship
The Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS) are hosting a new webinar series, “Inclusive 21st Century Apprenticeships,” which will highlight innovative apprenticeship programs and initiatives. The series kicked off with an event that celebrated successful women in apprenticeship during last November’s National Apprenticeship Week celebration. The second in this series will take place on April 21, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., and features international staffing company, Robert Half.

Robert Half recently launched an apprenticeship program as an internal talent solution, and for the 1000s companies they already work with. The first occupation registered in this program is cyber security analyst, with plans to expand into more IT and professional service apprenticeship roles in the future.

DAS Deputy Chief Adele Burnes will moderate the April event. Other featured speakers include DIR Director Katie S. Hagen, Robert Half’s Senior Vice President Jorge Marquez, Chief Information Security Officer Clint Maples and Information Security Analyst apprentice Jasmine Weddle.

The building and construction trades have known for a long time that apprenticeship is an effective way to create a strong talent pipeline that is diverse and inclusive. With this webinar series, DAS will show how the apprenticeship model can be tailored to meet the needs of any industry.
