§5037. Wire Rope -- Selection and Installation Criteria.


(a) Selection of replacement wire rope shall be in accordance with the recommendations of the crane manufacturer or a qualified person.
(b) Wire rope shall be compatible with the safe functioning of the equipment.
(c) Rotation resistant ropes. Rotation resistant ropes shall not be used for boom hoist reeving, except where the requirements of the crane manufacturer state otherwise.
(d) End terminations on wire rope shall be installed in accordance with the termination or rope manufacturer's specification.
