Article 15. Special Access Lifts
§3093.16. Operation of Safeties.
The car safety shall be of the inertia or other approved type operated by the
breakage of the suspension means or by the action of a speed governor. If it is
a speed governor type, the governor shall operate the safety at a maximum speed
of 75 fpm (0.38 m/s). On the breakage of the suspension means, the safety shall
operate without delay and independent of the speed governor action.
