Article 97.1. Floating Cranes/Derricks and Land Cranes/Derricks on Barges

§4988.1. Scope.

(a) The sections of this Article apply to floating cranes/derricks and land cranes/derricks on barges, pontoons, vessels or other means of flotation, unless specified otherwise.
Exception: The requirements of this Article do not apply when using jacked barges when the jacks are deployed to the river, lake, or sea bed and the barge is fully supported by the jacks.
(b) Sections 4988.2 through 4988.6 apply to both floating cranes/derricks and land cranes/derricks on barges, pontoons, vessels or other means of flotation.
