Article 15. Special Access Lifts

§3093.6. Horizontal Car Clearances [Rule 500.6].

(a) There shall be a clearance of not less than 3/4 in. (19 mm) between the car and the hoistway enclosure, and between the car and its counterweight. [500.6a]

(b) The clearance between the car platform and the landing sill shall be not less than 1/2 in. (13 mm) nor more than 1 1/2 in. (38 mm). [500.6b]
