NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING OF THE
INDUSTRIAL WELFARE COMMISSION

In accordance with Labor Code Sections 1173, 1178 and 1178.5, the Industrial Welfare Commission ("IWC") will hold a public meeting on Wednesday September 4, 2002. This public meeting will be held in Sacramento at the State Capitol, Senate Room 112 commencing at 10:00 a.m.

PUBLIC MEETING AGENDA

1. Consideration of "Petition Requesting The Commission Amend its Regulation Found at Title 8, Ch. 5, Group 2, section 11160 "Wages, Hours and Working Conditions for Certain On-Site Occupations in the Construction, Drilling, Logging, and Mining Industries." More specifically, petitioners allege that there is a conflict conflict between wage requirements imposed by the California Apprenticeship Council and the required payment of minimum wage for regularly indentured apprentices employed on private construction projects, and is asking for clarification and direction from the IWC.

2. Consideration of petition requesting the IWC to investigate amending Wage Order #5 as it pertains to employees of 24 hour group homes for the elderly and disabled, more specifically in regard to overtime pay, sleep time, and off premises meal and break time requirements.

3. The IWC will adjourn its public meeting and move into executive session to discuss the pending appeal in the case of IWC v. California Labor Federation, AFL-CIO, et. al.

4. Any new business that may come before the IWC.
