In accordance with Labor Code Sections 1173, 1178.5 (c) and 1181, the Industrial Welfare Commission will conduct hearings for public comment on proposed regulations regarding Employees covered by Wage Order 1, Section 11, Meal Periods.
The IWC will hold public hearings
in the following cities: in San Francisco on April 10, 2002, in San Diego on
April 12, 2002, and in Los Angeles on April 15, 2002. All hearings will commence
at 10:00 a.m.
AGENDA
1. Public comment on proposed amendments to Wage Order 1 regarding the modification of Section 11 in order to permit a meal period to commence after six hours of work instead of five.
In order for the IWC to provide an opportunity for interested parties to speak
at the public hearings, the amount of time within which each speaker will be
allowed to address the IWC may be limited. Accordingly, the public is urged
to submit written statements to the IWC concerning items on the agenda.
