NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING OF THE
INDUSTRIAL WELFARE COMMISSION


In accordance with Labor Code Sections 1173, 1176.3,1178, and, 1178.5, the Industrial Welfare Commission ("IWC") will hold a public meeting on Friday March 14, 2003, in Sacramento at the State Capitol, Senate Room 3191, commencing at 10:00 a.m.

PUBLIC MEETING AGENDA

1. Consideration of the Wage Board report regarding proposed amendments to Wage Order 5-2001 (regulating the wages, hours and working conditions of employees in the public housekeeping industry) regarding employees who have direct responsibility for the elderly, and adults with disabilities, receiving twenty-four hour care.

2. Consideration of the Charge to the Wage Board established to consider modification to wage order #9, Transportation Industry (regulating the wage, hours, and working conditions of employees in the transportation industry) regarding public transit drivers who are currently exempt from the meal and rest period provisions of the wage order.

3. Closed session, pursuant to Government Code 11126(e), to update the Industrial Welfare Commission on pending litigation, (National Ready Mix Concrete Co. vs. IWC, Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, and Arthur S. Lujan in his capacity as Labor Commissioner) and (Westside Concrete Company, Inc., vs. IWC, Division of Labor Standards Enforcement and Arthur S. Lujan in his capacity as Labor Commissioner).

4. Any new business that may come before the IWC.
