Division of Workers' Compensation to conduct next Spanish-language seminar on workers' compensation benefits and laws in Santa Rosa this Wednesday
The California Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) will conduct the next free Spanish-language seminar on workers’ compensation benefits this Wednesday, Nov. 3 from 6-8 p.m. The seminar will take place at the Santa Rosa Veterans Memorial Hall at 1351 Maple Avenue.
“At the height of the harvest season in this region, it’s good timing for us to talk to workers in the agriculture industry about rights in the workplace should they get hurt on the job,” said DWC acting Administrative Director Carrie Nevans. “The seminar is set up for employees that have recently filed a workers' compensation claim with their employer, but any worker can benefit from attending and anyone can attend.”
At the seminar employees will receive information on medical treatment, disability payments, returning to work after an injury and resolving a dispute over a claim. Following the presentations, DWC representatives will answer questions from attendees. The seminar will take place:
