WCIS system switchover update
The system implementation of version 3.0 of the California FROI/SROI implementation guide and version 1.1 of the California medical implementation guide has been completed. Acknowledgments for data received after Monday, June 18, 2012 began going out Friday, June 24. We appreciate everyone's patience during the transition period. Please contact your trading partner liaison with any questions or issues.
Revised FROI/SROI Trading Partner Insurer/Claim Administrator ID List
Version 3.0 of the California FROI/SROI implementation guide requires the nine-digit Claim Administrator Postal Code (DN14) to be listed for each claim administrator reported on the FROI/SROI Trading Partner Insurer/Claim Administrator ID List. A list of all claim administrator/insurer FEINs and postal codes for the physical claim adjusting locations must be reported for each Sender ID. The WCIS database uses these data to process individual FROI/SROI transactions and will reject transactions for unknown claim administrators and adjusting locations.
Implementation of the revised ID list will be delayed until Aug. 16, 2012, as many trading partners have not sent in their ID lists. Please email an updated insurer-claim administrator ID list to your assigned WCIS trading partner contact by August 1, 2012. The instructions and form are attached for your convenience. Updates should be sent to your trading partner contact whenever any information changes.
WCIS FTP transmission requirement
The only transmission option for both FROI/SROI and medical data reports is now via a secure FTP site hosted by the WCIS. Files must be sent using FTPS (FTP over SSL, RFC4217). In addition, trading partners may choose to encrypt files with PGP (Pretty Good Privacy, RFC4880) encryption before transmission. Data sent via any other methods, such as email and VANs will no longer be accepted. Trading partners that have not converted to FTPS transmission should contact their WCIS trading partner contact immediately.
Please also note that the WCIS receiver zip code has changed to 94612-1489.
