PROPOSED AMENDMENT AND  ADOPTION OF REGULATIONS TO IMPLEMENT THE PROVISIONS OF AB 633 AND OTHER STATUTES GOVERNING ENFORCEMENT OF MINIMUM WAGE AND OVERTIME REQUIREMENTS IN THE GARMENT INDUSTRY, AND THE REGISTRATION OF PERSONS ENGAGED IN GARMENT MANUFACTURING

NOTICE OF DOCUMENTS ADDED TO THE RULEMAKING FILE

On August 3, 2001, the Labor Commissioner notified the public of proposed regulations governing the enforcement of minimum wage and overtime requirements in the garment industry, and the registration of persons engaged in garment manufacturing. Pursuant to the requirements of Government Code sections 11346.8 (d), 11346.9 (a) (1), and 11347.1, the Labor Commissioner of the State of California is providing notice that documents which have been relied upon in adopting the proposed regulations have been added to the rulemaking file and are available for public inspection and comment.

The documents and information added to the rulemaking file are as follows:

These documents, and the entire rulemaking file, are available for public inspection at the headquarters of the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement located at 455 Golden Gate Avenue, 9th Floor, San Francisco, California, from March 29, 2002 through April 15, 2002. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (excluding legal holidays). Please contact Pat Johnson at (415) 703-4810 to arrange inspection of the rulemaking file.

If you have any comments regarding these documents, please submit them in writing between March 29, 2002 and April 15, 2002. All written comments must be submitted to the contact person listed below. The written comment period closes at 5:00 p.m. on April 15, 2002 and the Commissioner will only consider comments received by that deadline. All written comments received by the deadline that pertain to the documents listed above will be reviewed and responded to by the Labor Commissioner and his staff as part of the compilation of the rulemaking file.
