Notice of Wage
Board Meeting
Wage Order 9
April 9, 2003
In accordance with Labor Code Sections
1173, 1178, 1178.5, 1180 and Title 8, California Code of Regulations section
11530, et seq., the Industrial Welfare Commission (IWC) has called for a wage
board to consider certain matters related to the wages, hours and conditions
of labor of employees covered by Wage Order 9, (Transportation Industry), as
it relates to public transit drivers who are currently exempt from the meal
and rest period requirements of the wage order. A public meeting of the Wage
Board will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2003, in Sacramento at the Work Force
Investment Building, Conference Room A, 750 N Street commencing at 10:00 a.m.
Pursuant to Section 11534 of the
above-referenced regulations: (a) the public may attend and observe wage board
proceedings, but cannot make oral presentations; (b) any written testimony or
other information that the public wants the wage board to consider in its deliberations
should be addressed to the IWC, 770 L Street, Suite 1160, Sacramento, 95814,
at least fifteen (15) days prior to the first meeting of the wage board as designated
in the public notice.
