The video and six factsheets were designed and tested by U.C. Berkeley's Labor Occupational Health Program (LOH)), under contract with the Commission. This project was conducted in close collaboration with representatives from many sectors of the California workers' compensation community.
These materials follow up on a study by the Commission of injured workers' experiences in trying to obtain information and help with their claims ("Navigating the California Workers' Compensation System," 1996). In the current project, the purpose of designing a video and six separate factsheets is to allow distributors to answer questions and address concerns of workers at different stages without overwhelming people by giving all the information at one time. Some of the different stages include when a worker is noninjured, recently injured, recovering from a job injury, and evaluated as permanently disabled.

GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES SERVING THE PUBLIC
LIBRARIES
HIGH SCHOOLS
JOB TRAINING PROGRAMS

Customizing the Factsheets
In the space at the top of the back page of each factsheet, distributors are encouraged to insert information telling workers how to contact the distributor. If you make no modifications at all, or only add your contact information, please retain the credit and copyright information on the last page of each factsheet. If you make any modifications other than adding your contact information, please replace the information that refers to LOHP and the Commission on Health and Safety and Workers' Compensation with the following:
This factsheet was adapted from educational materials designed and produced in 1998 by the Labor Occupational Health Program (LOHP), University of California at Berkeley, under contract with the Commission on Health and Safety and Workers' Compensation.

Customizing the Video
With the video, the only modifications permitted are to add identifying information, contact information, or other messages before the beginning of the entire video or after the end of the entire video, or to translate the video into other languages. Please retain all credit and copyright information shown in the video.
