PROPOSED RULEMAKING SCHEDULED FOR UPCOMING PUBLIC HEARINGS

Pursuant to Government Code Section 11346.4 and the provisions of Labor Code Sections 142.1, 142.2, and 142.3, the Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board has set the time and place for a Public Hearing. At the Public Hearing, the Board will consider public testimony on the proposed changes noticed below to occupational safety and health regulations in Title 8 of the California Code of Regulations.

NOTICE OF REGULATIONS APPROVED

After proceedings held in accordance with and pursuant to authority vested in Sections 142, 142.3 and 142.4 of the Labor Code to implement, interpret, or make specific, the Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board, by a majority vote, adopted additions, revisions or deletions to the California Code of Regulations, Title 8, Chapter 4, as follows:

  1. Title 8, Chapter 4, Subchapter 7, General Industry Safety Orders, Article 4, Section 3273, Protection from Falling Objects.

    Heard at the October 17, 2002, Public Hearing; adopted on July 17, 2003; filed with the Secretary of State on
    August 26, 2003; and will become effective on September 25, 2003.

  2. Title 8, Chapter 4, Subchapter 7, General Industry Safety Orders, Article 13, Section 3457 and New Section 3458, Fall Protection for Date Palm Operations.

    Heard at the April 17, 2003, Public Hearing; adopted on June 19, 2003; filed with the Secretary of State on
    August 4, 2003; and became effective on September 3, 2003.

  3. Title 8, Chapter 4, Subchapter 5, Electrical Safety Orders, Article 74, Sections 2561.31 and 2561.32, and Subchapter 7, General Industry Safety Orders, Articles 91 and 99, Sections 4885 and 5022, Monorails Hoist, Monorail Cranes and Track.

    Heard at the June 19, 2003, Public Hearing; adopted on July 17, 2003; filed with the Secretary of State on
    August 25, 2003; and will become effective on September 24, 2003.
