Occupational Safety and Health Appeals Board
Summary of Knott’s Berry Farm – Decision After Reconsideration
The Board affirmed the ALJ’s Decision that Employer timely reported a serious injury to an employee, because Employer reported within eight hours of gaining actual knowledge of the extent of the injuries. Further, the Board held that Employer did not violate a chain and sprocket guarding requirement because the evidence failed to show the cited safety order applied to the equipment involved in the injury.
