Summary of J. R. Daniels Company - DAR

An Employee fell from the leading edge of a roofing deck being installed on a warehouse. The Division cited Employer under section 1670(a). The ALJ upheld a violation but reduced it from Serious to General. The Board affirms the violation. It was not proven that this was a roofing operation so section 1730, under the roofing Safety Orders, did not apply. Section 1710(h) does not apply when an employee is "working on or near a leading edge of a roof."
