NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING OF THE INDUSTRIAL WELFARE COMMISSION


In accordance with Labor Code Sections 1173, 1176.3,1178, and, 1178.5, the Industrial Welfare Commission ("IWC") will hold a public meeting on Friday July 11, 2003, in Sacramento at the State Capitol, Senate Room 2040, commencing at 10:00 a.m.

PUBLIC MEETING AGENDA

1. Consideration of and possible action on proposed amendments to Wage Order 9 as contained in the Wage Board report regarding Wage Order 9-2001, Transportation Industry (regulating the wages, hours and working conditions of employees in the transportation industry) that will apply to meal and rest period requirements to certain public transit drivers who are exempt from meal and rest period requirements of Wage Order 9 as it now exists.

2. Report by IWC legal counsel, Assistant Deputy Attorney General Marguerite Stricklin, on IWC's authority to act on proposed amendments to Wage Order 9.

3. Any new business that may come before the IWC.
