National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is the federal agency responsible for conducting research and making recommendations for the prevention of work-related disease and injury .The institute is part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

In an agricultural workplace the toilet facilities must be within 1/4 mile, 1320 feet or a five-minute walk of the jobsite, whichever is shortest.

The closest geographical area from which workers of the crafts, classifications and types to be used in the performance and executive of the public work can be drawn for employment upon such public work.

The rest period begins when the employee reaches an area away from the work area appropriate for rest. Employers are required to provide suitable resting facilities available for employees during working hours in an area separate from the toilet rooms.

The term "no significant amount of work other than the foregoing" means not more than 20% of the work time. Usually, "such other work" involves housekeeping duties such as cleaning house, washing dishes and clothes, ironing, and grocery shopping.
Nonexempt status means that an employee is covered by the provisions of the Industrial Welfare Commission wage orders.
nonformal (anonymous) complaint
A complaint is classified as nonformal when it alleges a workplace hazard or a violation of a state workplace safety and health regulation and it is lodged by an anonymous complainant, an employee representative who cannot give the name and address of the employee they represent or a non-employee.
nonserious (general or regulatory) complaint
A complaint is considered to allege a nonserious hazard if there is no substantial probability that death or serious physical harm could result from a work condition, practice, operation or process.
