DWC administrative director schedules public hearing on medical treatment utilization schedule
Administrative Director Andrea Lynn Hoch has scheduled a public hearing to consider adoption of the medical treatment utilization schedule pursuant to Labor Code section 5307.27. The public hearing has been scheduled to permit all interested persons the opportunity to present statements or arguments, orally or in writing, with respect to the adoption of the medical treatment utilization schedule.

Two sets of recommendations will be the topic of the public hearing: (1) the recommendations contained in the RAND report of November 2004, “Evaluating Medical Treatment Guideline Sets for Injured Workers in California,” approved by the Commission on Health and Safety and Workers’ Compensation (CHSWC) at the November 15, 2004 meeting; and (2) CHSWC’s Recommendations to DWC on Workers’ Compensation Medical Treatment Guidelines approved at its November 15, 2004 meeting.

The public hearing will be held on Monday, December 6, 2004, at 10:00 am at the San Diego Room, Lower Level of the Gov. Hiram W. Johnson State Office Building, 455 Golden Gate Ave., San Francisco.
Public comment will begin promptly at 10:00 am and will conclude when the last speaker has finished his or her presentation. If public comment concludes before the noon recess, no afternoon session will be held. The Administrative Director requests, but does not require, that any persons making oral comments at the hearing also provide a written copy of their comments. Equal weight will be accorded to oral comments and written comments.
