DWC announces working groups for SB 863 regulations
In anticipation of the enactment of Senate Bill 863, which creates wide-ranging changes to the workers’ compensation system, including increased benefits to injured workers’ and cost savings efficiencies, the Department of Industrial Relations’ (DIR) Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) is scheduling working groups to discuss regulation proposals.
“We know that DWC’s regulations will be better if we have input from the workers’ compensation stakeholders,” said DIR Director Christine Baker. “Please come prepared to share your ideas and suggestions.”
The initial working group meetings will address regulations that need to be adopted first in order to comply with the deadlines prescribed by the bill. Five meetings will be held Oct. 2 at the Elihu Harris State Building, 1515 Clay Street, Oakland, CA as follows:
