California Division of Workers Compensation posts transcript of public hearing on utilization review enforcement regulations and administrative penalties for unreasonable denial of compensation to its Web site
The division will conduct a public hearing on medical treatment guideline regulations Aug. 23 in Oakland
The Division of Workers Compensation (DWC) has posted the transcript of the public hearing held Jun. 29, 2006 on utilization review enforcement regulations and administrative penalties for unreasonable denial of compensation under Labor Code section 5814.6 on line. The division will also conduct a public hearing on proposed regulations for the medical treatment utilization schedule, commonly called medical treatment guidelines. Notice of the hearing, along with a copy of the proposed regulations, was initially posted on the DWC Web site and sent to the public on Jul. 7, and the hearing is scheduled for:

The hearing will be conducted using a moderator, who will facilitate the flow
of comments on the regulations. To provide everyone a chance to speak, public
testimony will be limited to 10 minutes per speaker and should be specific to
the proposed regulations. Testimony exceeding 10 minutes may be submitted in
writing until 5 p.m. on Aug. 23. Camera usage will be allowed in only one area
of the hearing room.
