Division of Workers Compensation headquarters moves to Oakland
After almost six years in its San Francisco offices on Golden Gate Avenue, DWC headquarters -- including the Uninsured Employers Fund staff -- is moving to the Elihu M. Harris state building in Oakland. Beginning Monday, Aug. 29, 2005, the divisions new address is:
All package deliveries, including medical provider network (MPN) applications sent via overnight mail, should be sent to the Oakland address beginning Monday, Aug. 29, 2005.
Mail sent to the division using the U.S. Postal Service may still be sent to the San Francisco post office box: P.O. Box 420603, San Francisco, CA 94142.
I am very excited about having the whole division team in one location, said DWC Administrative Director Andrea Lynn Hoch. Its taken a lot of effort by division staff to prepare for the move while continuing to run vital programs for users of the workers comp system. We hope system users will exercise patience over the next week, as we get our new offices up and running.
New Oakland phone lines for DWC staff should be functioning by Tuesday, Aug. 30, but San Francisco phones and computers will be shut down for the move on Friday, Aug. 26. DWC staff may not have access to email in Oakland until Aug. 31.
This phase of the move does not include the Medical Unit
located at Oyster Point, so there will be no disruption of operations at the
Medical Unit at this time.
