Ambulance fee schedule update to conform to Medicare inflation adjustment is posted on DWC Web site

The Division of Workers' Compensation has adopted an order adjusting the ambulance services section of the official medical fee schedule (OMFS) to conform to a change in the Medicare payment system as required by Labor Code section 5307.1. The change will be effective for services rendered on or after Sept. 8, 2005, for ambulance services paid for under the California workers' compensation OMFS. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has adopted an ambulance inflation factor of 3.3 percent for Medicare services for calendar year 2005.
