IAIABC EDI Licensing Program
Beginning in 2011, the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions (IAIABC) will charge an annual license fee for the use of each of its copyrighted electronic data interchange (EDI) standards. The WCIS uses two IAIABC EDI standards: IAIABC First and Subsequent Reports of Injury Release 1 and IAIABC Medical Bill Payment Reporting. Any organization that uses an IAIABC EDI standard to send workers’ compensation data to a state regulatory agency on behalf of an unaffiliated third party will be subject to a licensing fee. In order to encourage full participation in the standards process, any license fee obligation may be used as a credit to the applicable cost of IAIABC EDI membership.
More information can be found at http://www.iaiabc.org/i4a/pages/index.cfm?pageid=3810.
Please contact Faith Howe, IAIABC EDI Manager, at email@example.com or Heather Lore, IAIABC Manager of Membership and Marketing, at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions about this new IAIABC EDI licensing program or the EDI membership alternative to licensing.
