WCIS task force

As discussed and recommended by participants at the last WCIS advisory committee meeting (May 22, 2006), DWC is creating a task force to review its FROI/SROI reporting system and make recommendations for improving the Implementation Guide. Trading partner input is needed and welcomed. If you are interested in participating in this effort, please contact Martha Jones (mjones@dir.ca.gov or 510-286-0835).

WCIS data quality issues

Data quality issues were also reviewed at the May WCIS advisory committee meeting. An industry-wide data quality report will be posted shortly at http://www.dir.ca.gov/dwc/wcis/WCIS_Reports.html. Several participants asked if DWC would provide analogous individual company reports on data quality. If you are interested in receiving such a report for your company, please contact Martha Jones (mjones@dir.ca.gov or 510-286-0835).

Trading partner profiles and ID list

The WCIS will be updating the FROI/SROI trading partner database. A list of all claim administrator FEINs must be reported for each Sender ID. The WCIS database uses claim administrator FEINs to process individual transactions and may reject transactions for unknown claim administrators.

Please email a completed trading partner profile and insurer-claim administrator ID list to your assigned WCIS trading partner contact by July 17, 2006. The instructions and forms are attached for your convenience. Please notify your trading partner contact whenever any information changes in the profile or ID list.

As a reminder, there are two new FROI data element requirements authorized by the new WCIS regulations:
