WCIS Advisory Committee Meeting Details

Dear Interested Party:

You are invited to attend the next meeting of the Advisory Committee for the Workers' Compensation Information System (WCIS). As you are probably aware, the WCIS has been up and running for over two years. I am pleased to inform you that we now have more than 1.5 million claims represented in the database. WCIS Advisory Committee Meeting

The upcoming May 21 meeting of the Committee is very important. We will offer a WCIS status report at the Advisory Committee meeting. Additionally, we will discuss plans for the future development of the WCIS, as well as areas where additional rulemaking is contemplated. The meeting will be held:

Tuesday, May 21, 2002
Hiram Johnson State Building
9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (lunch on your own)
Hiram Johnson State Building
Training Rooms 5 & 6 (Lowest Level)
455 Golden Gate Avenue, San Francisco 94102

As you can see from the enclosed tentative agenda, we have a full slate of items to cover. To facilitate discussion, materials that will be reviewed at the meeting, such as the regulatory amendments DWC is considering, will be posted to the DWC website about one week before the meeting. You can view and download these documents by going to http://www.dir.ca.gov/DWC/WCIS.htm and then scrolling to "WCIS Advisory Committee Materials". Alternatively, you may email Ms. Maureen Gray at dwcrules@dir.ca.gov if you want DWC to mail you hard copies of the meeting material.

Please also email Ms. Gray to let us know whether you or someone from your organization will be able to attend the May 21 meeting. You may wish to have a technical representative as well as someone from the program side. Finally, a Notice has been included to permit you to inform DWC whether and how you wish to receive future communications regarding the WCIS and/or other regulatory and information materials. .

Sincerely,

Richard Gannon
Administrative Director
