WCIS System is currently up to date The California Workers' Compensation Information System (WCIS) is currently fully operational. Since last summer, the Information Systems EDI and Programming staff have been working on various aspects of the system, so that it has been relatively stable.ÊIt has also been operating at the level at which it was designed to perform. The EDI Trading Partner Contacts at DIR, Damon and Johnny, have been doing their best to assist Trading Partners with EDI issues. Most of their time is spent assisting Trading Partners with old, backlogged problems that occurred due to old systemic issues that have since been resolved or problems that DIR staff was unable to get to due to the backlog of problems. The system is currently up to date. All backlogged files have been processed. Therefore, all acknowledgements for these files should have been sent out. If you still have any outstanding acknowledgements, please email this information to your Trading Partner Contact person.Include the date and time the batch was sent and number of claims in the batch. A problem ticket will be assigned and an email will be sent to you confirming receipt of your email. We will do our best to resolve any missing acknowledgements as soon as the Trading Partner Contacts can get to them. We hope to continue to make improvements to the WCIS system and provide the necessary support for Trading Partners, so that we can continue to make inroads towards a successful and effective system for collecting workers' compensation claims information in California. We also hope to improve our service to minimize the cost and inconvenience to all Trading Partners. We certainly appreciate the cooperation and support we have received from the Trading Partners, who have shown a high degree of patience as we worked hard at improving the performance of the WCIS system. If at all possible, please send all your SROIs, including all ANs. As a reminder, please do your best to send ANs in their own batches. In other words, please do not mix ANs with other MTC types of transactions (see ENews #22).It is our goal to resolve all past missing acknowledgements, given the backlogged work, so that the Trading Partner Contacts can work with the partners that are waiting to participate in full production status and assist partners with any problems they might have.
