A Positive Start For 2002 Status

We extend our best wishes to all of our trading partners and look forward to working with you in the New Year. We have started 2002 on a positive note, as the WCIS system is now up-to-date in generating and sending out all backlogged acknowledgements. If you have any outstanding acknowledgments for files sent prior to 1/1/2002, please contact your WCIS contact person. We appreciate your cooperation and patience.

WCIS Contacts

As noted in an earlier e.News, an EDI unit has been formed in the IS department of DIR. This unit is responsible for collection of claims data through EDI. As a result of this change, trading partner contacts now are as follows:

Johnny Lee, Trading Partners A, B, D, E I-L, S-Z
tel: 415.703.4418
fax: 415.703.5911

Damon Chen, Trading Partners C, F- H, M-R
e-mail: dcchen@dir.ca.gov

AN Transactions

The WCIS expects to receive by the end of this month Annual (AN) transactions on all claims with any benefit activity, including medical, from January 1, 2001 through December 31, 2001.

Reminder:

All transactions with Maintenance Type Code (MTC) of AN must be separated into batches by themselves. In other words, submit claims with MTCs of AN in pure batches of ANs. Mixing ANs with other MTCs will cause undue delays in the processing of all claims transactions in WCIS.

For the reason mentioned above, all transactions with MTC of UR also must be separated into batches by themselves. In other words, submit MTC of UR in pure batches of URs.
