WCIS California Medical Version 2.0 Update
To start reporting in the California Medical Version 2.0 standard on April 6, 2016, Trading Partners, both new and existing, are required to submit an updated Medical Electronic Data Interchange Trading Partner Profile Form. Trading Partners who have not submitted the profile form are urged to do so immediately.
The WCIS has begun Trading Partner connectivity and transaction level testing. Trading Partners must go through testing before submitting production data in the California Version 2.0 standard on April 6, 2016. If you have not started testing, please do so at this time. The testing steps can be found in Section IV of California EDI Implementation Guide for Medical Bill Payment Records, Version 2.0, April 6, 2016.
The last day WCIS will receive 837 files according to the California Medical Version 1.1 standard will be March 22nd 2016. During the transition period between March 23rd and April 5th 2016, the WCIS will only send out 997 and 824 acknowledgements for all 837 files received prior to March 23rd 2016. On April 6, 2016, the WCIS will start receiving 837 files based on the California Version 2.0 standard. There will be no parallel reporting in Version 1.1 and Version 2.0.
The updated California Medical Version 2.0 FAQ is posted to the DWC website. The FAQ will continually be updated until the go live date of California Medical Version 2.0.
