Do I need to keep Cal/OSHA injury and illness records for establishments that will exist for less than a year (i.e. a “short term” establishment)?
Yes, however separate Cal/OSHA 300 Logs for each “short term” establishment are not required.
One Cal/OSHA 300 Log may be kept that covers all
“short-term establishments” in:
- the entire organization, or
- individual company divisions or geographic regions.
Some employees work at several different locations or don’t work at any of my establishments. How do I record cases for these employees?
Link each employee with an establishment.
Record cases on the Cal/OSHA 300 Form that covers the employee’s establishment (or “short-term” establishment).
How do I record a case when an employee from one establishment is injured or becomes ill while visiting or working at another
of my establishments?
Record the case on the Cal/OSHA 300 Log for the establishment at which the injury or illness occurred.
How do I record a case when an employee is working away from any of my establishments and becomes ill or is injured?
Record the case on the Cal/OSHA 300 Log for the establishment at which the employee normally works.
